ARS vs AVL, EPL 2022/23, Matchday 5: Preview, Predictions & Fantasy XI

Arsenal will lock horns with Aston Villa in Matchday five of the Premier League 2022-23 at the Emirates Stadium in the wee hours of Thursday in India.

Under manager Mikel Arteta, Arsenal have made an impressive start to the Premier League campaign this season, winning all their four matches so far. With 12 points from four games, Arsenal are currently at the top of the Premier League 2022/23 standings, two points clear of second-placed Manchester City.

Arsenal head into the Aston Villa fixture brimming with confidence after they beat Fulham 2-1 at their home ground in their last Premier League game on Saturday.

While Aleksandar Mitrović opened the scoring for Fulham in the 56th minute, Norwegian midfielder Martin Odegaard equalised for Arsenal eight minutes later. Brazilian centre-back Gabriel Magalhães netted the winner for Arsenal in the 86th minute to extend their winning streak to five matches in the Premier League – including the final fixture of last season.

On the other hand, Aston Villa have made a disappointing start to the ongoing Premier League season.

Led by manager Steven Gerrard, Aston Villa have registered one win and three defeats in their four matches so far. The Lions are currently placed 16th in the Premier League 2022/23 standings with just three points on the board.

Aston Villa will look to bounce back after succumbing to a 0-1 defeat against West Ham at the Villa Park on Sunday.

Steven Gerrard’s men finished 14th in the Premier League last season, having accumulated 10 points above the relegation zone.
