Match: India vs Pakistan (IND vs PAK)
Date: September 4, Sunday, 7.30 PM IST
Venue: Dubai International Stadium, Dubai
Arch rivals India and Pakistan will go head to head for a second time in the Asia Cup 2022 at the Dubai International Stadium on September 4. In their first encounter of the tournament a week ago, Pakistan narrowly lost the nail-biter.
Bowlers from both the sides put up a wonderful show. India, who opted to bowl first after winning the toss, bowled out Pakistan for 147 runs in the penultimate ball of the innings. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the best bowler on the day with four wickets, while Hardik Pandya picked up three wickets. Arshdeep Singh (2) and Avesh Khan (1) also chipped in. For Pakistan, the only significant knock came from opener Mohammed Rizwan (43).
In the second innings, the Pakistan bowlers gave a good fight for most of the game until Hardik Pandya wrapped up the chase with a six in 19.3 overs. Most of the Indian batsmen struggled against the Pakistan quicks, but Pandya produced a match-winning 33 off 17. Mohammad Nawaz and Naseem Shah picked up five wickets between them.
The Rohit Sharma-led side is having great run in the game’s shortest format, having won 21 of their 25 T20Is played since last year’s T20 World Cup, and will be looking for another win in the next game.
Ahead of the big game in Dubai, let’s look at the head to head of both the teams, pitch report, weather update, top picks for your MPL fantasy team and more.
