Match: Pakistan vs Hong Kong (PAK vs HKG)
Date: September 2, Friday, 7.30 PM IST
Venue: Sharjah Stadium, Sharjah
Hong Kong and Pakistan will face each other in the sixth match of Asia Cup 2022 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on September 2. Both Pakistan and Hong Kong lost their respective opening matches at the hands of India, and whichever team wins this game will again play against India on Sunday.
Against India, the Hong Kong bowlers put up a disappointing show and allowed the opponents to score 192 for 2 in 20 overs. The only two wickets which fell were taken by Ayush Shukla and Mohammad Ghazanfar. Chasing 193 runs to win, the Hong Kong batsmen put up a good fight before eventually managing 152 runs. Babar Hayat top scored with a knock of 41, while Kinchit Shah and Zeeshan Ali also put up a good fight.
Pakistan, meanwhile, lost their match to India narrowly. Batting first, the Babar Azam-led side scored 147 before being bowled out in the penultimate ball of the innings. Their batting was substandard, as the only significant knock came from opener Mohammed Rizwan, who scored 43. Their bowlers did an excellent job to take the game down to the wire, before a six from Hardik Pandya helped India finish the chase with three balls to spare. Mohammad Nawaz picked up three wickets, while Naseem Shah chipped in with two.
Ahead of the sixth game of Asia Cup 2022, let’s look at the head to head of both the teams, pitch report, weather update, top picks for your MPL fantasy team and more.

Five players to watch out for
Here we list five players you must pick in your MPL fantasy XI for PAK vs HKG, Asia Cup 2022
Ehsan Khan – bowler, Hong Kong
Ehsan Khan did not pick up any wickets in the game against India, but he is one of the best bowlers that Hong Kong have. Recently in the Asia Cup Qualifiers Final against the UAE, Ehsan Khan picked up four wickets, which changed the course of the game. In all, the veteran bowler has played 31 T20Is and has picked 39 wickets. On the UAE pitches, his off spin bowling will be very crucial to Hong Kong.
Babar Hayat – batsman, Hong Kong
Babar Hayat was the best batsman for Hong Kong in the game against India. He scored 41 runs off 35 deliveries which was laced with three boundaries and two maximums. Hayat has scored more than 35 runs in his last three international outings and will be looking for another significant knock to help save Hong Kong from getting eliminated from the tournament.
Babar Azam – batsman, Pakistan
Captain of the Pakistan team, Babar Azam had a rare off day against India, where he managed to score just 10 runs. But that doesn’t take away anything from him being one of the best in the business. Currently the no. 1 batsman in ICC T20I rankings, Babar Azam has 2696 runs in 75 T20Is at an average and strike rate of 45.32 and 129.44.
Mohammed Rizwan – wicketkeeper batsman, Pakistan
Babar Azam’s opening partner Mohammed Rizwan was the only batsman who produced a knock of substance in the game against India. Although the knock was slow paced, the 43 runs which came off Rizwan’s bat helped Pakistan post a decent total. Since the start of 2021, Rizwan has scored 1369 runs in 30 T20Is at an average of nearly 74.
Shadab Khan – all-rounder, Pakistan
Shadab Khan was Pakistan’s most economical bowler against India, having given away just 19 runs in his four overs. On a slow pitch, Shadab will once again be one of the key bowlers for Pakistan.
