Ahead of the third and final ODI between Australia and New Zealand in Cairns, let’s look at the head to head of both the teams, pitch report, weather update, top picks for your MPL fantasy team and more.

Weather update and pitch report for AUS vs ZIM, 3rd ODI

The first two ODIs between Australia and New Zealand marked the return of international cricket to the Cazaly stadium after 18 years. Before the on-going series, the ground hosted two Test matches back in 2003 and 2004. Going by how the first two game panned out, both the batsmen and bowlers get equal assistance from the surface, and same goes for both pacers and spinners. The skipper winning the toss may want to bowl first.

The weather in Cairns will be mostly cloudy with little chance of rain. The temperature will fluctuate between 21 to 25 degrees Celsius.

Five players to watch out for

Here we list five players you must pick in your MPL fantasy XI for AUS vs NZ 3rd ODI

Glenn Maxwell – all-rounder, Australia

Glenn Maxwell was the best bowler for Australia in the first ODI, having picked up four wickets. With the bat, however, Maxwell has not done anything significant in both the games and will look to get some runs in the final game. In T20s, he has a batting strike rate of 151.65 and 130 wickets.

Devon Conway – batsman, New Zealand

Devon Conway hit 46 runs in the first ODI, but failed to deliver in the second game, much like all his teammates. He will now look to make amends for it in the last game and help his side avoid a whitewash. In all, Conway has an average of nearly 43 in his ODI career so far. This includes a century and two fifties.

Kane Williamson – batsman, New Zealand

Kane Williamson, who returned for this series after missing the last series, missed a half century in the first ODI by just five runs. One of the finest players in the world, Williamson averages nearly 48 in ODIs and is a must-have player in your fantasy team.

With five wicket, Adam Zampa was the wrecker-in-chief in the second ODI. Earlier, he picked up one wicket in the opening ODI. Overall, Zampa has 115 wickets in 72 ODIs.

Steve Smith – batsman, Australia

After scoring just one run in the first ODI, the former Aussie skipper scored an unbeaten 61 in the second ODI. Overall, he has a batting average of 43.55 in 135 ODIs.
