Australia women have played 11 T20Is since the last T20 World Cup, winning six and losing two with three matches ending in no result. Their last assignment was a three-match series against England as a part of the Ashes. They claimed the first T20I by nine wickets while the remaining two were washed out.

Pakistan played a bilateral series against Sri Lanka in May, clean sweeping the visitors by 3-0 at Karachi. They chased in all three games and claimed victories by six wickets, seven wickets and four wickets, respectively. Pakistan have a big challenge ahead of them as they have never defeated Australia in a T20I.

This Tri-Series offers both Australia and Pakistan some preparation for the upcoming T20 competition in Commonwealth Games 2022, starting later this July in Birmingham.
