Venue: Green Park, Kanpur

Road Safety World Series 2022 got underway on September 10. A total of 8 teams will compete in the tournament, and each team comprises of retired cricketers.

The league, as its name suggests, aims to create awareness about road safety. The first edition of the series was called off after four games in March 2020 due to the pandemic.

Each of the eight teams will play five matches in the group stage. The top four teams will qualify for the semi-finals, which will be played in Raipur on September 28 and 29, while the final will be held at the same venue on October 1.

In the second match of the series, we have Bangladesh Legends taking on West Indies Legends in Kanpur on September 11. Both teams have a strong squad. While Bangladesh Legends will be led by Shahadat Hossain, Brian Lara will be at the helm of the West Indies Legends.  In the last edition, Bangladesh won only one of their six games and were at the bottom of the table when the league was indefinitely suspended. The Windies, on the other hand, were a better side with three wins in six games.

Ahead of the second game of the Road Safety World Series 2022, let’s look at the head to head of both the teams, pitch report, weather update, top picks for your MPL fantasy team and more.

Weather update and pitch report for BAN-L vs WI-L

The pitch at the Green Park stadium in Kanpur has historically been balanced and has offered equal assistance to both the batters and bowlers. But the spinners here fare much better than the fast bowlers. Only a solitary T20 game has been played at this venue in the past, in which a target of 148 was successfully chased down. In other T20 games played here, the average first innings score is 132. The captain winning the toss will likely opt to bowl first.
