Match: Bangladesh vs England (BAN vs ENG)
Date: March 14, Tuesday, 2.40 PM IST
Venue: Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka
The third T20I between England and Bangladesh will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Tuesday, March 14. The hosts have already won the series by winning both the first two matches. Their bowlers were excellent in both the matches, and their batsmen have also delivered the goods.
In the first T20I, all the Bangladesh bowlers picked up at least one wicket to restrict England to a first innings total of 156, which was chased down in 18 overs, courtesy a half century by Najmul Shanto.
Bangladesh then went on to win the second T20I by four wickets. Mehidy Hasan picked up four wickets as Bangladesh allowed England to score only 117 runs in the first innings. Later in the game, an unbeaten 46 by Shanto took them over the line with two overs to spare.
England have not clicked as a unit. Both their bowling and batting has been unimpressive except for one-off performances. Big names like Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid are yet to perform up to expectations. The visitors will now look to avoid a whitewash and come back stronger in the next game.
Ahead of the 3rd T20I between England and Bangladesh, let’s look at the head to head of both the teams, pitch report, weather update, top picks for your MPL fantasy team and more.
Weather update and pitch report for BAN vs ENG, 3rd T20I
Batting has not looked easy in Dhaka. The bowlers have dominated in both the games and we are likely to see a similar trend in the final T20I. Expect the spinners to help you score points in your fantasy team. Anything above 140 will be a competitive total on this pitch. The captain winning the toss is likely to opt to bowl first.
A total of 66 T20s have been played at this venue, of which 35 have been won by the teams bowling first. The average first innings score is 140, while the average second innings score is 122. The highest and lowest total recorded is 211 for 4 and 60 for 10.
The weather in Dhaka will be warm, with the temperature going up to 32 degrees. Rain is not forecast.

Five players to watch out for
Here we list five players you must pick in your MPL fantasy XI BAN vs ENG, 3rd T20I
Jos Buttler – wicketkeeper batsman, England
Jos Buttler scored only four runs in the second T20I but smashed 67 off 42 in the opening game. Buttler has been in fine form over the last few months and is undoubtedly the best batsman in the current England team.
Najmul Hossain Shanto – batsman, Bangladesh
Najmul Shanto has played match-winning knocks in both the games. He scored 46* off 47 in the last game after smashing 51 off 30 in the first T20I. Shanto has three fifties in his last five innings across formats and is thus indispensable to your MPL fantasy team.
Shakib Al Hasan – all-rounder, Bangladesh
The Bangladesh skipper has not delivered a match-winning performance but has contributed in bits. He dismissed Philip Salt in the last game and conceded only 13 runs. Overall he has scored 34 runs and taken two wickets from two games.
Adil Rashid – bowler, England
The veteran English bowler has not been able to contribute in the T20I series despite bowling on spin friendly pitches. Yet, he remains important to your fantasy team. Adil Rashid was the leading wicket-taker in the ODI leg of the series against Bangladesh.
Jofra Archer – bowler, England
Jofra Archer took three big wickets while conceding just 13 runs from his four overs in the 2nd T20I. He has taken 11 wickets from his last five outings across formats and is a good choice for your MPL team’s vice captaincy.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz – all-rounder, Bangladesh
Hasan was not included in the XI in the first T20I but he grabbed the opportunity to play in the second T20I with both hands by taking four wickets while conceding just 12 runs. With the bat, he scored 20 off 16 in the last game.
