Roshan Naorem (Bengaluru FC)

Roshan Naorem emerged as one of the most utility fullbacks in the recently concluded season of the Indian Super League. The Bengaluru FC defender impressed with his flexibility as he is capable of playing on both sides of the defence.

The 22 year old also proved his attacking credentials by adding seven assists to his tally alongside scoring on one occasion. He also was adjudged the Emerging player of the season award for his brilliant contribution. His defensive guile also caught the eye as he made 77 tackles and 37 blocks in the 2021-22 season. He also earned a callup to the Indian football team for his heroics on the pitch.

Akash Mishra (Hyderabad FC)

Akash Mishra’s hard work finally paid off as Hyderabad FC lifted the Hero Indian Super League title by getting the better of Kerala Blasters FC via a penalty shootout in the final. Akash is regarded as one of the most talented players who could play a huge role for the Indian team in the long run.

Akash is known for his marauding runs through the flanks and can cross the ball on a regular basis. The 20 year old scored two and set up another three goals which played a very crucial role in Hyderabad’s title winning ISL season.

Apart from helping in the attack he also kept the defensive shape intact as his side conceded the second fewest goals in the season.

Tiri (ATK Mohun Bagan)

Tiri has been one of the most commanding defenders in the Indian Super League over the years. The centre back is one of the most crucial cogs in ATK Mohun Bagan’s success. His ability to carry the ball forward has been a key component of his success in the Indian Super League.

Tiri made the most number of interceptions in the league and the experienced campaigner has appeared in over 100 ISL games so far in his career.

Marko Leskovic (Kerala Blasters FC)

Marko Leskovic managed to stamp his authority in his very first season for Kerala Blasters. The Croatian defender was at the heart of the Kerala defence and very few players could dribble past him as he brought a sense of calmness to the backline.

He also didn’t panic in crunch situations and also initiated the attacking build up with his smooth progression with the ball. He marshalled the defensive setup like a pure leader and manager Ivan Vukomanovic did put on some great responsibility on him.

Peter Hartley (Jamshedpur FC)

Jamshedpur FC defender Peter Hartley had a massive presence during the entire campaign. He is one of the best defenders in ISL and Jamshedpur depended on him heavily in a season which looked pretty comfortable for the ISL side.
