Amy Jones (44* off 32) and Ellyse Perry (39* off 28) then sailed them to victory comfortably with an unbroken 78-run stand in 47 balls for the third wicket.

Northern Superchargers women were convincingly defeated by Oval Invincibles by nine wickets in the opening game. In the second game, they edged out London Spirit by just 5 runs in a low-scoring nail-biter.

Bess Heath scored a fantastic 57 off 34 but Superchargers could only post 127/4 on the board. Alyssa Healy ran out dangerous looking Beth Mooney on 30 off 20 while their bowlers did an excellent job to bring down the equation to 38 off the last 20. Alice Davidson-Richards, who picked 2/20 in her spell, defended 13 runs off the final block.

Perry has over 5500 runs in the shorter format at an excellent average of 40 with two hundreds and 31 fifties.

Alyssa Healy: Wicketkeeper Batter, Northern Superchargers

Alyssa Healy showed some signs of returning to form in the last game, hitting three fours and a six. She’s one of the most destructive batters in the game, having scored over 6500 runs in T20 cricket at an average of 25 and strike rate of 129. Healy has hammered five hundreds and 38 fifties in the format.
