CEL vs RMA, UEFA Champions League 2022/23: MPL Preview, Predictions & Fantasy Team

Scottish football club Celtic will host reigning champions Real Madrid in their opening Group F clash of the UEFA Champions League 2022-23 at Celtic Park in Glasgow, Scotland in the early hours of Wednesday in India. The match will kick off at 12:30 AM Indian Standard Time (IST).

Under Australian manager Ange Postecoglou, Celtic head into the UCL 2022-23 opener high on confidence, having thrashed Rangers 4-0 in their last fixture in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday. Having won all their six matches in the league so far, Celtic are currently at the top of the Scottish Premiership standings with 18 points from six games.

Interestingly, Celtic make a return to the UEFA Champions League for the first time since the 2017-18 campaign. The Bhoys finished third in Group before losing to Russian club Zenit St Petersburg in the Round of 32 stage of the UEFA Europa League.

On the other hand, defending champions Real Madrid have also made an impressive start to their 2022-23 season. With four wins from as many games in the La Liga, the Los Blancos are currently leading the La Liga 2022-23 standings with 12 points, two points clear of arch-rivals FC Barcelona and Villareal.

Real Madrid have also registered a 2-0 win over Europa League winner Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Super Cup at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium in Finland.

Carlo Ancelotti’s managed side will aim to retain their trophy this season and clinch a record 15th Champions League title.
