Chelsea will take their final approach when they host Brentford on 2nd April in the English Premier League.
The Blues have been dealing with various off field problems but that hasn’t affected their on-field performances. Owner Roman Abramovich has been sanctioned by the United Kingdom government for having close ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
But despite these struggles, they have maintained a steady graph in their form and have won six back to back matches in all competitions. They have faltered in their title charge but a third place finish is up for grabs and they are likely to maintain the course.
With a quarter final tie against Real Madrid in the offing Tuchel might have to reshuffle his team. The manager has managed to pull together his side so far and another will boost their confidence ahead of the Champions League fixture.
Brentford made an excellent start to their maiden Premier League campaign by getting the better of Arsenal and backed it up with a number of impressive performances.
But they failed to gather the momentum and were tinkering with the relegation zone for a while. But their recent improved performances have helped them to stay afloat in the top flight.
Thomas Frank’s side is eight points clear of the relegation zone and a positive result against Chelsea would only brighten their survival chances.
Chelsea have already beaten the Bees twice in the season and will be looking to make it three in three on Saturday.
Brentford’s defensive record away from home has been pretty awful and they need to sort out their backline as Chelsea do have the potential to wreck heavy damage.
The Blues are unbeaten in the last 17 matches at the Stamford Bridge and will look to extend their streak. They have accumulated 59 points from 28 games and are still competing for three trophies although the title race seems to be only between two teams, Liverpool and Manchester City.
Chelsea defeated Newcastle United 1-0 in the last match while the Bees had to taste a bitter 2-1 defeat at the hands of Leicester City. The newly promoted side are looking to ensure another season in the Premier League and an inspirational display against Chelsea would be perfect for them.
Romelu Lukaku is likely to skip this game and the onus will be on Kai Havrertz who scored the winning goal in the last match. The German international will be slotting in the false nine role and will have the licence to roam around the pitch.
