Pole position is at stake in Der Klassiker
The two most formidable sides of Germany will clash in what is the most anticipated game of the season, Der Klassiker, on Saturday, 4th December at the Signal Iduna Park. First-placed Bayern Munich will take on second-placed Borussia Dortmund.
Both teams have won 10 of their 13 games, but since Bayern have drawn a game more than their opposition, they have 31 points in their account, as compared to Dortmund’s 30. The Bavarians had a fantastic start, remaining unbeaten in their first six games.
Their first defeat came in the seventh tie against Eintracht Frankfurt, but Julian Nagelsmann’s men then won four consecutive games. FC Augsburg handed the Bavarians their second defeat, but they once again made a comeback by beating Arminia Bielefield.
On the other hand, Borussia Dortmund lost two of their first six games – against SC Freiburg and Borussia Monchengladbach. However, from then onwards till now, Marco Rose’s team has won six of their seven outings, with their only defeat coming against RB Leipzig.

DOR vs FCB Top Picks
Robert Lewandowski: Striker, Bayern Munich
Robert Lewandowski might not have got his hands on the Ballon d’Or trophy yet, but like every other hand, he will try to let his performances do the talking. The Poland international has been in terrific form in front of the goal, having scored 25 goals in only 20 matches.
In the Bundesliga, Lewandowski has scored a hat-trick against Hertha Berlin, two brace against Bayer Leverkusen and Union Berlin, and one goal each against Borussia Monchengladbach, 1. FC Koln, RB Leipzig, VfL Bochum, TSG Hoffenheim, SC Freiburg and FC Augsburg.
Erling Haaland: Striker, Borussia Dortmund
Fourteen years youngster than the Polish striker, Erling Haaland is another goal-machine who seems certain to win a Ballon d’Or at some stage in his career. He has scored 14 goals in 11 games, 10 of which have come in the Bundesliga.
The Norwegian youngster has scored brace against Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayer Leverkusen, Union Berlin and 1. FSV Mainz 05, while he also scored one goal each against TSG Hoffenheim and VfL Wolfsburg. Haaland has also scored a hat-trick against Wehen Wiesbaden in the DFB Pokal.
Captain & Vice-Captain Selection
Given the form he has shown in front of the goalmouth, it will be a foolish move not to pick Robert Lewandowski as the captain. For our vice-captaincy, we have selected Erling Haaland, who will lead the lines for the Black and Yellow.
