Suryakumar Yadav and Deepak Hooda also chipped in with important runs. Chasing 199 to win, the Jos Buttler led side was all out on 148. Hardik Pandya was the wrecker-in-chief with four wickets, Harshal Patel and debutant Arshdeep Singh also picked up two each. The action will now move to Edgbaston, where also recently hosted the fifth Test match between the two sides.
Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah, who were rested for the opening T20I after playing the fifth Test, will join the team for the last two matches. Five players to watch out for
Here we list five players you must pick in your MPL fantasy XI for ENG vs IND
Jos Buttler: wicketkeeper batsman, England
Jos Buttler, who is on his first assignment as England’s white-ball captain, has been in top form this year. He was the highest run-scorer in IPL 2022, after which he scored an unbeaten 162 and unbeaten 86 against Netherlands in an ODI series. Despite bagging a golden duck in the first T20I against India, Buttler is indispensable to your MPL team and also a good option for captaincy or vice captaincy.
Rohit Sharma: batsman, India
Rohit Sharma is back with the team after missing the fifth Test due to COVID-19. The Indian captain got a good start in the first T20I (14 off 24) but was not able to convert it. He nevertheless remains one of the most sought after players across fantasy platforms.
Hardik Pandya – all-rounder, India
Hardik Pandya has been in sensational form over the last three months and he was India’s best performer in the first T20I too. With the bat, the all-rounder scored 51 off 33 and with the ball, he picked up four wickets for 33 runs.
Suryakumar Yadav – batsman, India
Suryakumar Yadav didn’t have the best of times in the series against Ireland. He scored a duck in the first game and 15 runs in the second. But the middle order batsman returned to form against England with a 19-ball 39 which was laced with four boundaries and two maximums. In the overall 17 T20Is since his debut, Yadav has scored 405 runs at an average of 33.75 and strike rate of 170.88.
Moeen Ali – all-rounder, England
Moeen Ali was the top run scorer for England in the second T20I. He scored 36 runs off 20 balls at a strike rate of 180. He also contributed with the ball, taking two wickets in four overs while conceding only 26 runs. In all, Moeen Ali has played 51 T20Is, from which he has a batting strike rate of nearly 138 and 35 wickets.
