About
Chelsea have emerged as one of the most successful clubs in the English Premier League in the last few years. The Blues are a late bloomer in English football and Roman Abramovich’s ownership has steered the change.
The Russian-Israeli billionaire took over the club back in 2003 and since then a revolution started in West London. The owner injected money to oversee a complete change at the club which included the foundation of a brand new training ground.
The Blues inaugurated their state of the art Cobham training ground which has all the latest facilities and has been using the ground since then. Roman’s tenure also has seen some terrific performance as the club lifted the Premier League title five times and the Champions League twice.
Chelsea are also regarded as one of the richest football clubs in the world and have managed to put up a stable revenue system that has been active since Roman’s arrival at the club. The current deal in place with Nike brings the club about £60m annually which is one of the highest.
Their transfer policy has also seen them earning millions by selling out players over the years.
Overall the club has managed to put together a successful system that is of massive help to the footballers as well as to the supporters.
Jose Mourinho had a greater influence at the club as he became a household name very soon for his winning antics. The Portuguese wasted very little time in turning Chelsea into one of the European giants and delivered three titles in his two spans of Blues career. The Portuguese is still regarded as an iconic figure at the club and will remain the best manager in Chelsea’s history.

Road Ahead for CFC
With the Champions League trophy last season, the Blues are on the right track it seems and they will try to win the Premier League once under the guidance of Thomas Tuchel. Tuchel oversaw a massive overhaul since his arrival at the club following the departure of Frank Lampard.
Tuchel has done good work at Stamford Bridge and is likely to remain manager for the next season too. But frequent managerial changes have been a case for the West London giants. Roman Abramovich era has seen some galore of trophies and it has also witnessed the most number of managers changing hands at the club.
Tuchel’s appointment made him the 13th manager in the Roman era and despite so many ins and outs, Chelsea have managed to churn out successive trophies since 2003. The likes of Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti and Antonio Conte delivered silverware during their tenure and the trend is going on.
When it comes to finances and management the club is very well positioned. Marina Granovskaia has been the Chelsea director for quite some time and he has the last say in the transfers. Her involvement saw some massive incomings and outgoings at the club and she was also behind the scenes for the Nike sponsorship deal.
She is regarded as one of the most powerful women in world football and is leading from the front at the West London club. Roman has turned Chelsea into one of the powerhouses of world football and they are likely to play an influential part in English football.
Like Manchester United and Arsenal the Londoners also have a significant presence of supporters all over the globe. Excess of 40000 people can sit and enjoy football during match days. There were plans of revamping the stadium to increase the capacity as the stadium still lacks way behind Old Trafford and Emirates Stadium.
The plan has been put on hold as of now and it remains to be seen when can the hierarchy implement the renovation.
