About
Tottenham Hotspur have solidified their position as one of the giants in the English Premier League. The London giants have managed to establish their footing on the English soil with some exciting brand of football in the last couple of years.
Spurs did show their title ambition when they defeated Ajax in the Champions League semifinal to make it to the final. But they lost to a dominating Liverpool in the final ending their dream journey on a bitter note.
Mauricio Pochettino was responsible to some extent for Spurs’ improvement as the manager introduced a fresh kind of challenge at the club. The Argentine brought in the likes of Dele Alli , Harry Kane and Eric Dier who have gone on to stamp their authority in the English league. Spurs performed extensively well under his guidance but inconsistency was the main reason as they fell behind. They finished second in the 2016-17 points table as they couldn’t replicate their brilliant form in the second half of the season.
Pochettino was replaced by Jose Mourinho who managed the club for a brief period as he left the club in April 2021.
The club has seen a number of managers arriving at the club but none of them really managed to stabilise their position.

Road Ahead for Spurs
Tottenham Hotspur demolished their old stadium White Hart Lane to build the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium which currently holds more than 62000 people on match days. The state of the art stadium has also hosted NFL games before as the pitch is retractable and can be used in an NFL game.
The stadium has been made on purpose as it could serve the whole year to earn revenue even when football is not being played at the stadium. It can host meetings, music concerts and can serve several people together for various occasions. The stadium also has its own brewery which can make almost 23000 pints a day.
The club needs to show its ambition on the pitch as a number of players could leave the club in the summer if they fail to nail down a Champions League spot for the second consecutive year.
Harry Kane is the poster boy of the club and the England captain might have to leave London in search of a new destination. Kane has been pivotal to the club’s plans but a dearth of trophies could force the player to think of an alternative solution.
They have fallen much behind their London counterparts in terms of success and they need some brave strategies to make themselves count amongst the biggies
