Gujarat Giants finished third on the table with five points and a narrow net run-rate margin. They had a net run-rate of -0.366 compared to -0.467 of Manipal Tigers. Giants only managed to win two of their six matches in the group stage and are on a three-match losing streak.
In their final group match, they suffered a defeat by five wickets at the hands of Bhilwara Kings. Batting first, Gujarat Giants posted a strong total of 186/7 on the back of Chris Gayle’s 68 off 40 and Yashpal Singh’s 58 off 37. The bowling attack – barring Graeme Swann and Thisara Perera who combined for 3 for 35 in five overs, was taken apart.
Bhilwara Kings finished second on the table with seven points, winning three out of six group matches. They had a chance to head straight into the final but they were defeated in the Qualifier by India Capitals by four wickets in what was an absolute runfest.
Shane Watson smashed 65 off 39 whereas William Porterfield scored 59 off 37. Yusuf Pathan then hit 48 off 24 with Rajesh Bishnoi blasting an 11-ball 36 as Bhilwara posted 226/5. Defending the target, Monty Panesar bowled a tight spell of 1 for 26 in four overs but the rest of the attack was taken to cleaners as India Capitals chased down the target with three balls to spare.

Barkatullah Khan Stadium in Jodhpur has produced excellent batting pitches in the ongoing Legends League Cricket. Three matches have been played here so far, with the first innings scores reading 186, 183 and 226. Interestingly, all three games were won by the team batting second.
