HYD vs BRD, Vijay Hazare Trophy: MPL Fantasy Preview, Predictions, Probable XI

Match: Hyderabad vs Baroda, Vijay Hazare Trophy (HYD vs BRD)

Date: February 24, 2021

Venue: Lalabhai Contractor Stadium, Surat.

The Vijay Hazare Trophy will see Baroda take on Hyderabad in a Round Three Elite A Group match on Wednesday. Hyderabad are currently the top ranked team in Group with wins in their last two games. Baroda too have won their previous two encounters this season, but are ranked third due to their Net Run Rate.

Hyderabad openers Tanmay Agarwal and Tilak Verma have scored a hundred each in the first two games, and will be itching to continue their form. In their last league game, against Tripura, Hyderabad scored a mammoth 349 runs, and ended up winning by 113 runs as Chama Milind picked up a five wicket haul.

Baroda, on the other hand, too defeated Tripura earlier after bowling them out for 263. In reply, skipper Krunal Pandya, wicket keeper Smith Patel and Vishnu Solanki ensured that the target was easily overhauled without much of a sweat as they reached the target with five wickets and nine balls to spare.

Weather Update and Pitch Report of HYD vs BRD:

The day will be warm and sunny, with temperatures around the 28 degree Celius mark during the day. There is no chance of rain. The track here is expected to favour the bowlers. With two all-outs in the last two games that have been played at this venue, we can anticipate a low-scoring game yet again. The team that wins the toss will be looking to bat first.

HYD Expected XI and Team News:

The Hyderabad team are currently the leaders of Group A in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, with two successive wins. They will have no reason to make any changes to their XI.

Tanmay Agarwal (c), Tilak Varma, Himalay Agarwal, Bavanaka Sandeep, Mickil Jaiswal, Telukupalli Ravi Teja, Prateek Reddy (wk), Tanay Thyagarajan, Chama V Milind, Ajay Dev Goud, Mehdi Hassan

BRD Expected XI and Team News:

The Baroda team, like Hyderabad, are entering the clash on the back of two fine victories. They are expected to go unchanged into the game as well.

X Factors:

Atit Sheth: The right arm medium pacer has been a consistent performer for Baroda over the seasons. He has picked up 51 wickets in his career thus far at an economy rate of just 4.67, which is evidence of his accuracy.

Both teams are entering the game in fine form, but, on paper, Baroda are the favourites to win the clash.
