IND vs AUS, 2nd T20I – Fantasy Preview and Top Picks

Match: India vs Australia, (IND vs AUS, 2nd T20I)

Date: September 23, 2022 – 7 PM IST

Venue: Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur

Australia drew the first blood in three-match T20I series, claiming the first match to go 1-0 up. India will look to level the series when they take on the visitors at VCA Stadium in Nagpur on Friday, September 23rd.

Australia came out triumphant in the series opener by four wickets in what was a high scoring contest. KL Rahul came out as if he wanted to make a point to his critics over his scoring rate. The Indian opener scored 55 off 35 balls at the top whereas Suryakumar Yadav played some sumptuous shots in his 25-ball 46.

Hardik Pandya then put on an exhibition of smarts and power, playing with the minds of Aussie bowlers as he blasted 71* off just 30 to power India to 208/6. Nathan Ellis was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors, picking 3 for 30 in four overs.

Chasing the target, Aaron Finch and Cameron Green provided Australia a flying start. Green, opening the innings for the first time ever in the shorter format, smashed 61 runs in 30 balls. Smith played a decent support role with 35 off 23 before they lost three quick wickets.

With the equation reading 55 off the last four overs, India looked firm favourites. But Matthew Wade then struck 45* off 21 to pull off their highest ever successful chase in T20I cricket. Axar Patel was magnificent with the ball for India, bagging 3 for 17 in four overs but the lack of support meant the hosts ended up losing with four balls to spare.
