Match: India vs New Zealand, (IND vs NZ, 3rd ODI)

Date: January 24, 2023 – 1:30 PM IST

Venue: Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore

The men in blue have clinched yet another bilateral series, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead over the Black Caps. The visitors will be looking to avoid a whitewash when they take on India in the third ODI at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on Tuesday, January 24th.

While the first match was a closely fought thriller, the second ODI turned out to be a one-sided contest on Saturday. The home side annihilated New Zealand by eight wickets at Raipur to secure the series.

Mohammed Shami got India off to an incredible start, knocking over Finn Allen on the fifth ball of the match. The visitors never recovered from it as Indian seamers rattled the entire top order, reducing New Zealand to 15 for 5.

Glenn Phillips tried to put up a fight with 36 while Mitchell Santner and Michael Bracewell added 20s. But they were eventually bowled out for just 108. Mohammed Shami picked 3 for 18 off his six overs whereas Hardik Pandya and Washington Sundar bagged two scalps each. Rohit Sharma then smashed 51 off 50 while Shubman Gill remained unbeaten on 40 to take the side over the line in 20.1 overs.

Earlier in the series, India just about managed to hold off the Black Caps by 12 runs. Shubman Gill smashed a sublime double hundred in the match before Bracewell played a stunning knock of 140 in just 78 balls.
