India and South Africa will play the third T20I of the ongoing series on October 4 at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. The hosts took an unassailable 2-0 lead after winning the second T20I.

India won the first T20I by eight wickets on the back of an excellent bowling performance. Arshdeep Singh picked up three wickets, while Deepak Chahar and Axar Patel took two each to restrict the opponents to a first innings score of only 106. Keshav Maharaj’s 41 was the only significant knock from among the South African batsmen. Batting second, India chased down the target in 16.4 overs. Both KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav scored unbeaten fifties.

India produced a dominating performance in the second T20I too. Batting first, they scored 237 for 3 in their 20 overs. Suryakumar Yadav scored 61 off 22 at a strike rate of 277.27. KL Rahul scored 57 off 28 at a strike rate of 203.57. Down the order, Dinesh Karthik also hit a boundary and two maximums.

South Africa put up a terrific fight in the run chase, but eventually fell 16 runs short of the target. David Miller, who scored an unbeaten 106 off 47, took the side closer to the target.

Suryakumar Yadav – batsman, India

Suryakumar Yadav has been absolutely sensational this year. He has scored 793 runs in 22 T20Is at an average of 41.73 and a strike rate of 185.28. This includes a century and six half-centuries. 793 runs is now the most number of T20I runs scored by an Indian batter in a calendar year. Yadav has a half century in all his last three outings and can be the match winner in your fantasy cricket team.

Arshdeep Singh – bowler, India

Arshdeep Singh was the Player of the Match award in the first game for picking three wickets for 32 runs in four overs. In the second game, he picked two wickets in his very first and although he was very expensive in the second T20I, having leaked more than 50 runs, Singh still remains a good pick for your MPL team.

David Miller – batsman, South Africa

David Miller was dismissed for a duck in the first game, but made a terrific comeback in the second game in which he scored 106 runs off 47 deliveries. His knock was laced with eight boundaries and seven maximums and came at a strike rate of over 225. The big-hitting batsman will look for another big knock in the final T20I.

Keshav Maharaj – bowler, South Africa

Keshav Maharaj was the only bowler who put up a decent performance for South Africa in the second T20I. He picked up two wickets for 23 runs in four overs. Maharaj is also is the third-highest wicket-taker for South Africa in T20Is in 2022.
