Following a high scoring and mega entertaining T20I series that ended in 2-1 to the hosts, India and Sri Lanka will now compete in a three-match ODI series. The first One Day International will take place at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Tuesday, January 10th.
Hardik Pandya led India in the shorter format, where India edged the visitors in the first T20I by just 2 runs before falling 16 runs short in the second game. The men in blue then obliterated the Lankan lions by 91 runs in the third match to clinch the series.
Rohit Sharma returns for this series to take charge of the side, along with Virat Kohli. The superstar trio of these two and Jasprit Bumrah has played only one ODI together in nearly three years.
