India vs West Indies, 2nd ODI:

India took a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series against the West Indies with a resounding victory in the first match on Sunday. The two will lock horns in the second ODI at Motera Stadium on Wednesday, February 9.

The Rohit Sharma-led Indian side hammered the West Indies by six wickets in the first match. Having sent them in to bat first, Indian bowlers did a superb job to bowl out the Windies for 176. Yuzvendra Chahal snared 4 for 49 while Washington Sundar claimed 3 for 30. For the visitors, Jason Holder put up some fight with his 57 while Fabian Allen added 29 runs.

Chasing the target, India got off to a great start with Rohit and Ishan Kishan adding 84 runs for the first wicket in 13 overs. Sharma scored a sublime 60 off 51 while Suryakumar Yadav and Deepak Hooda had an unbeaten 62-run partnership to take the team home. India will look to take an unassailable lead on Wednesday whereas the West Indies will be fighting to keep the series alive.

India: Expected XI and Team News

India prefered Shardul Thakur over Deepak Chahar in the last game despite the latter having an impactful outing in South Africa. KL Rahul is returning back for this match and could replace either of Deepak Hooda or Ishan Kishan. The rest of the playing should stay the same.

Probable XI – Rohit Sharma (c), Ishan Kishan, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (wk), KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal, Prasidh Krishna

West Indies: Expected XI and Team News

West Indies brought back Darren Bravo into the ODI fold but that didn’t quite work out in the first game. It’s possible that they bring in Romario Shepherd in his place to find the right balance. Jason Holder could also be promoted up the order after a fifty in the last game.

Probable XI – Shai Hope (wk), Brandon King, Shamarh Brooks, Nicholas Pooran, Kieron Pollard (c), Jason Holder, Fabian Allen, Romario Shepherd, Kemar Roach, Alzarri Joseph, Akeal Hosein

2nd ODI: Five players to watch out for in the IND vs WI match

Here we take a look at five key players you must pick in your MPL fantasy XI:

Rohit Sharma: Batter, India

Rohit Sharma, arguably the best ODI opener in the world, has been one of the pillars of the Indian team. The right hander has 7298 runs to his name while opening the innings, averaging 57 at a strike rate of 92. He has registered 27 hundreds and 32 fifties at the top. Rohit is coming off a magnificent 60 in the last game and can be a great captaincy option if India bats first. Rohit is priced at 10 credits.

Yuzvendra Chahal: Bowler, India

Yuzvendra Chahal has been one of the most prolific wicket-takers in ODIs in the last five years. The leg-spinner has taken 103 wickets in 60 ODI matches at a strike rate of 31.5, including best figures of 6 for 42. Chahal was terrific in the first ODI, picking 4 for 49. Keeping in mind WI batters’ weakness against leg spin, Chahal can be a good captaincy option if India bowls first. He’s priced at 9 credits.

Virat Kohli: Batter, India

Amongst the best batters in ODI history, Virat Kohli has unbelievable numbers in the format. He has amassed 12293 runs at an average of 58 while striking at 93, including 43 hundreds and 64 fifties in ODIs. Despite no centuries in over two years, he’s in decent touch with six fifties from his last nine ODI innings. Kohli is priced at 10 credits and can be a good VC option if India bats first.

Jason Holder: All-rounder, West Indies

Jason Holder was the only WI batter who looked solid and managed to put up a fight in the first ODI with his 57 runs. Holder adds a good all-round value, having picked 141 wickets in 125 ODIs at a strike rate of 40.8 along with over 2000 runs at an average of 25. He has picked four or more wickets on six occasions and also has 11 fifties with the bat. Holder will cost you 9.5 credits.

Prasidh Krishna: Bowler, India

Prasidh Krishna has a lot of potential and has done a decent job for India in ODIs in limited opportunities. He has picked 11 wickets from five ODIs while his List A career has 95 wickets from 55 games at an average of 23.51. He has taken four or more wickets on eight occasions in List A cricket. Krishna was superb in the last game, picking 2/29 off 10 overs. He will cost you 8.5 credits.
