India women will face Barbados in the 10th match of the women’s T20 competition in Commonwealth Games 2022. The two teams will lock horns at the Edgbaston in this Group A fixture on Wednesday, August 3.
India brushed off the disappointment of their loss in the first game and bounced back with a resounding win over Pakistan on Sunday. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side defeated Pakistan by eight wickets and 38 balls to spare. Sneh Rana and Radha Yadav snared two wickets each while other bowlers also chipped in as they dismantled the opponents for just 99. Smriti Mandhana scored an outstanding 63* off 42 to anchor the chase smoothly.
Barbados, who defeated Pakistan women in their opening game by 15 runs, were hammered at the hands of Australia. They were shot out for just 64, with Hayley Matthews’ 18 being the only double digit score. Australia’s Alyssa Healy and Meg Lanning then finished the run-chase in 8.1 overs with nine wickets to spare.
Both India and Barbados have two points each from two games. This clash is a direct shootout for a semi-final spot in the tournament.

Opening the innings, Mandhana can be a good C/VC option. She’s priced at 9.5 credits.
Hayley Matthews: All-rounder, Barbados
Hayley Matthews is the most important player for Barbados and has been in great form in recent times. The all-rounder has scored 1124 runs in the format at 18 average with a hundred and five fifties. She has also picked 59 wickets with two four-fors. Matthews has scored 166 runs and snared seven wickets in her last five T20s. She is a top C/VC option, priced 10.5 credits.
Harmanpreet Kaur: All-rounder, India
Harmanpreet Kaur was magnificent in the opening game of the CWG 2023, scoring 52 off 34 balls. The all-rounder has a superb record in the format, having scored 2457 runs at an average of 28. She has one hundred and six fifties in the format while also picking 31 wickets with the ball. Kaur didn’t have much to do in the second game but remains a solid C/VC, priced at 9.5 credits.
Shafali Verma: Batter, India
The 18yr old Shafali Verma can be a dangerous batter to deal with. She was brilliant in the first game, scoring 48 off 33. Overall, Shafali has smashed 817 runs in 34 T20Is at an average of 25 while striking at 140. The opening batter has three fifties to her credit in this format. Shafali will cost you 9 credits on the MPL.
Radha Yadav: Bowler, India
Radha Yadav is India’s T20 specialist with a pretty good record. The left arm spinner has claimed 58 wickets from 45 matches at an economy of 6.62 and strike rate of 16.8. Radha was taken apart in the first game but bounced back with an excellent 2/18 against Pakistan. Yadav can be a good pick, coming at 8.5 credits.
