England Legends and India Legends are set to collide in match no. 14 of the Road Safety World Series 2022. The two teams will meet at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun on Thursday, September 22nd.

India Legends have been quite unfortunate this season with two of their three games getting washed out due to rain. They hammered South Africa by 61 runs in the season opener. In the previous fixture, India made 49/1 in 5.5 overs, with Sachin Tendulkar delighting the crowd with several boundaries before the rain interrupted.

Stuart Binny was the star versus South Africa Legends, smashing 82* off 42 while Yusuf Pathan blasted 35* off 15 to power the total to 217/4. Rahul Sharma starred with the ball, snaring 3 for 17 as they restricted South Africa to 156/9.

England Legends are yet to open their account in the tournament, having lost two matches with one game getting washed out. They were hammered by eight wickets in their previous fixture at the hands of West Indies.

Ian Bell anchored the innings with his 46 off 43 whereas Rikki Clarke smashed 50 not out in just 25 balls to take the score to 156/5 in 20 overs. They were then belted around the park for 120 runs in 11.2 overs by the West Indies openers. Clarke bagged 2 for 16 in three overs but the rest of the attack was taken to the cleaners.

Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun has only hosted six T20 matches, with the average first innings score reading 178. Expect good batting surfaces here in this tournament as well. The highest total at the venue was registered by Afghanistan when they amassed 278/3 versus Ireland in 2019. 

Dehradun could witness thunderstorms on Wednesday morning and afternoon. There’s around 25% chance of precipitation in the evening but wet outfield could be an issue.

Rahul Sharma: Bowler, India Legends

Rahul Sharma was excellent in the only game he has bowled in this season, picking 3 for 17 in his four overs versus South Africa. The leg-spinner had shown promise in his time, claiming 80 wickets at an economy of 7.11.

Rikki Clarke: All-rounder, England Legends

Rikki Clarke is coming off a magnificent all-round display versus West Indies, where he blasted 50* runs off just 25 balls and went on to claim 2 for 16 in three overs. The 40yr all-rounder has over 2300 runs in T20 cricket along with 113 wickets at an economy of 7.55.

Sachin Tendulkar: Batter, India Legends

The Indian legend looked in good touch versus New Zealand, hitting four boundaries in his 13-ball 19* knock. Tendulkar’s record in his time need not be mentioned. In the Road Safety World Series, he has scored 268 runs in nine innings at 38 average and 138 strike rate.

Suresh Raina: Batter, India Legends

Suresh Raina scored 33 off 22 in his first game of the Road Safety World Series against South Africa. The 35yr old left hand batter, who retired from competitive cricket this year, has amassed over 8600 runs in his T20 cricket at an average of 32 while striking at 137.
