Robin Uthappa – The Walking Assassin

Robin Uthappa IPL Fantasy

The Indian cricketer, Robin Uthappa, plays for Kerala in domestic cricket. He plays as a wicket-keeper batsman. It is incredible to watch Uthappa’s fearless and hard-hitting shots as a batsman on the field. However, his struggle with strokeplay hasn’t worked out in his favor and has kept him away from the Indian team.

Robin Uthappa made a debut in the 2006 ODI in the seventh and final match against England. His score in that limited-overs match was the highest any Indian debutant had made. The tactic he used for charging the bowler earned him his nickname ‘The Walking Assassin’. Uthappa had also been a member of the U19 Indian team that won the Asia Cup.

In the Indian Premier League, Uthappa played for Mumbai Indians in 2008. However, his journey during the IPL seasons hasn’t been relatively stable in terms of staying in a particular team. Robin Uthappa joined Royal Challengers Bangalore for the 2009 and 2010 seasons and finished the 2001-2013 seasons in the Pune Warriors team. From 2014-2019, he played for Kolkata Knight Riders and was in the Rajasthan Royals squad for 2020. For the upcoming IPL 2021 season, Uthappa will be playing for Chennai Super Kings. His performances in the IPL always kept him in high demand amongst the different IPL franchises.

The cricketer from Karnataka came into the limelight in the 2005 Challenger Trophy, where he put up a good show playing for India B against India A. His outstanding performance in the seventh season of the Indian Premier League led him to become the captain of the India A team in the July 2013 Australia tour.
