Venue: Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai

Match 32 of Indian T20 League 2021 will see team Punjab and team Rajasthan lock horns at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 21. Both the teams are currently on the wrong side of the points table and will be looking to secure two crucial points to enter the top four. With three wins in eight matches, the KL Rahul-led Punjab side is sixth on the points table, one place below the fifth-ranked Rajasthan side that has won three in seven matches.

The last time the two teams met was in Mumbai earlier this year when Punjab won by four wickets after setting Rajasthan a target of 222 runs. KL Rahul scored a 50-ball 91, while Deepak Hooda hit 64 runs at a strike rate of 228.57. In reply, Sanju Samson’s one-man show – a 63-ball 119 – helped Rajasthan get to 217 runs, five runs short of the target.

Both the teams boast of some big-hitting batsmen in their ranks. With the likes of Rahul, Nicholas Pooran, Shahrukh Khan, Evin Lewis, Samson and Liam Livingstone playing the game, we are in for a run fest.

PUN vs RAJ: Five players to watch out for

Here we list five players you must pick in your MPL fantasy XI for PUN vs RAJ.

KL Rahul: Wicketkeeper batter, Team Punjab

MPL price -11 credits

The Punjab captain is currently the second-highest run-scorer in Indian T20 league 2021, having 331 runs at an average of 66.20 and strike rate of over 135. While all of those runs came earlier this year in the tournament’s first leg, Rahul will be hoping to pick up from where he left. He was also the highest run-scorer last year with 670 runs, and the second-highest run-scorer the year before that with 593 runs. As per our fantasy expert and former cricketer Deep Dasgupta, Rahul is a good choice for your MPL team’s captaincy.

Sanju Samson: Wicketkeeper batter, Team Rajasthan

MPL price – 9.5 credits

Another wicketkeeper-batter indispensable to your MPL team is Sanju Samson, who averaged 46.16 in the first half of the tournament and also hit a fine century. After missing out on India’s T20 World Cup squad, Samson will now be eager to shift his entire focus on the remainder of the Indian T20 league and help Rajasthan qualify for the playoffs.

Evin Lewis: Batter, Team Rajasthan

MPL price – 9 credits

Evin Lewis will be replacing Jos Buttler at the top of the batting order. The swashbuckling batter was the second-highest run-scorer in the CPL that concluded last week. Lewis scored 426 runs at an average of 47.33 and strike rate of 163.21, and also hit the tournament’s most number of sixes – 38. The 29-year-old southpaw’s incredible form makes him a good pick for your MPL team.

Liam Livingstone: All-rounder, Team Rajasthan

MPL price – 9 credits

With Rajasthan missing the services of Buttler, Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer, they will be highly dependent on the likes of Liam Livingstone and Chris Morris to deliver. After withdrawing midway into the first phase of the league, Livingstone will be eager to make amends in UAE. The English all-rounder was the highest run-scorer in the Hundred last month, scoring 348 runs in nine innings at an average of 58 and strike rate of 178.46. With the ball, the offbreak bowler picked up five wickets. Livingstone loves hitting sixes, as is evident from his 234 sixes in 149 T20s, and he will be looking to light up his 150th T20 appearance with a few more big shots. Chris Morris makes for another good pick from the all-rounders category.

Mohammad Shami: Bowler, Team Punjab

MPL price – 9 credits

Mohammed Shami picked up seven wickets before the tournament got suspended earlier this year and will be looking to replicate the performance in UAE, especially in Dubai where the pacers enjoy more than the spinners. He brings with him the experience of playing 73 matches from which he has 68 wickets. Another good pick from the bowlers’ category on the MPL app is Tabraiz Shamsi, the current no. 1 T20I bowler in the world.
