The 65th match of the Indian T20 League 2023 will witness Team Hyderabad and Team Bangalore taking on each other at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday, May 18. Hyderabad are eliminated from the playoffs race but this is a crucial game for Bangalore.

Team Hyderabad have had a terrible campaign, courtesy of bad management and poor form of some players. They only managed to win four games and have lost eight. Most recently they suffered a season-ending loss at the hands of Gujarat by 34 runs.

Shubman Gill smashed Hyderabad bowlers for a superb century before they pulled things back. Bhuvneshwar Kumar bagged 5 for 30 as they picked 8 for 41 in the last six overs. Chasing 189, Hyderabad had an awful start with their top four getting dismissed inside the powerplay. Heinrich Klaasen scored a fighting 64 off 44 but did not get any support.

Team Bangalore have 12 points to their credit with two games to go. Two more wins will put them in a very good position to reach the playoffs. They kept themselves alive and improved the net run-rate to 0.166 when they hammered Rajasthan by 112 runs in the previous game.

Faf du Plessis registered his seventh fifty of the season while Glenn Maxwell produced an outstanding knock of 54 in 33 balls on a slow pitch. Anuj Rawat struck 29* off 11 to help them get 171. Rajasthan went too hard in the run-chase and were bowled out for just 59. Wayne Parnell picked 3 for 10 while Michael Bracewell and Karn Sharma bagged two scalps each.
