Ireland vs India, 1st T20I:

As India’s one squad gears up for the one-off Test against England, the white-ball squad will take on Ireland in a two-match T20I series. The first T20 international will take place at The Village in Malahide, Dublin on Sunday, June 26.

Led by Hardik Pandya in the absence of Rohit Sharma, India’s focus will be on giving gametime to the players who are likely to be on the plane for the upcoming T20 World Cup. India have been in good form, winning 14 of their last 17 matches. Their most recent assignment resulted in a 2-2 series draw after the final game was washed out.

Ireland will look to prepare themselves for the world event with a tough challenge in the form of India. Earlier this year, they qualified for the group stage of the T20 World Cup by securing top two finish in the Global Qualifier A. Ireland defeated Bahrain, Germany and Oman but lost the final against the UAE by seven wickets.

1st T20I: Five players to watch out for in the IRE vs IND match

Here we take a look at five key players you must pick in your MPL fantasy XI:

Ishan Kishan: Batter, India

Ishan Kishan has been India’s best T20I batter this year, having scored 382 runs from 10 matches at an average of 38 and strike rate of 132. The left hand batter has smashed three fifties in this period. Kishan is coming off a terrific series against South Africa, where he made 206 runs at 41 average while striking at 150 with two half centuries. He’s a good C/VC option, coming at 9.5 credits.

Harshal Patel: Bowler, India

Harshal Patel, one of the best death overs specialists in recent times, has started finding his feet in international cricket. He has snared 6 wickets in the last three innings while conceding at less than 5.5 rpo. Overall, Harshal has 175 wickets from 144 matches at a strike rate of 16.9, including four four-fors. He can be a good C/VC pick at 8.5 credits.

Gareth Delany: All-rounder, Ireland

He comes at 9 credits.

Hardik Pandya: All-rounder, India

Hardik Pandya has made a great return to cricket this year through the Indian T20 League followed by a good series against South Africa. Hardik’s scores read 31*, 9, 31* and 46 in the series, rescuing India multiple times. In his overall T20 career, Hardik has scored 3401 runs at an average of 30 while striking at 141. He also has 118 wickets in overall T20 career. Hardik is priced at 9.5 credits.

Paul Stirling: Batter, Ireland

Paul Stirling, often underrated, is an excellent white-ball player. Stirling has a good record for Ireland, having scored 2776 runs from 102 matches at an average of 30 while striking at 135. He has smashed one hundred and 20 fifties in T20Is. Stirling also has 75 wickets with the ball. He hasn’t been in good touch lately but remains a top pick, priced at 9.5 credits.
