IRE-W vs AUS-W T20I Fantasy Preview and MPL Top Picks

Match: Ireland women vs Australia women T20I (IRE-W vs AUS-W)

Date: July 17, 8:30 PM IST

Venue: Bready Cricket Club, Magheramason, Northern Ireland

Australia women are in Ireland for a six-game tri-series which also involves Pakistan and will serve as a good preparatory tournament ahead of the Commonwealth Games scheduled to begin later this month. Australia and Pakistan will travel directly to Birmingham for the Commonwealth Games after their respective last games in the on-going series.

The first game of the tri-series between Australia and Pakistan produced no result, with only eight overs possible in the match due to rain. Australia, however, picked up six wickets in those eight overs while conceding 56 runs.

Australia women have played just one completed T20I in 2022, which they won by nine wickets against England after chasing down 170 in 17 overs. The other two T20Is of the Ashes were washed out. Ireland, meanwhile, won a match against South Africa last month by 10 wickets – which was also their only second win ever over South Africa. However, they went on to lose the series.

Australia have an unbeaten record against Ireland in T20Is, and will be looking to maintain that when the two sides take to the field for the second game of the tri-series. Ireland will be led by Laura Delany, while Bismah Maroof will be at the helm of Pakistan.

Ahead of the second T20 of the tri-series, let’s look at the head to head of both the teams, pitch report, weather update, top picks for your MPL fantasy team and more.
