KBFC vs CFC ISL 2021/22: MPL Preview, Predictions, & Fantasy Team

In a Hero Indian Super League (ISL 2021/22) match at the Tilak Maidan Stadium on Thursday, Kerala Blasters FC will take on Chennaiyin FC on 26th February, Saturday.

In order to go to the semifinals, Kerala Blasters FC will know they cannot afford to lose any points, and when they take on Chennaiyin FC in an Indian Super League match at the Tilak Maidan Stadium, the men in yellow will know they will have their work cut out for them.

Hyderabad has already qualified for the semi-finals, resulting in a battle for the remaining three positions. Jamshedpur FC has an edge over their opponents since they are positioned second in the table with 31 points, but they have two games in hand.

Kerala suffered a 2-1 loss to league leaders Hyderabad in their most recent match, and they now sit in the fifth position with 27 points after 17 games. Currently, in fourth place with 28 points, Mumbai City FC will play FC Goa on Saturday in a late kickoff, therefore Kerala Blasters will aim to keep them on their toes with a win earlier in the day on the field of play.

Alvaro Vazquez has been in excellent form and demonstrated his superiority once again in the second part of the match against Hyderabad. Nishu Kumar and Jeakson Singh are both questionable for Saturday, according to Ivan Vukomanovic. Jorge Pereyra Daz was not available for the previous game since he was serving a one-match ban, and the coach said that they are still awaiting the outcome of his appeal.

For Chennaiyin, the season is gone in terms of competing for a semifinal position, but the Sabir Pasha-coached team still has a lot to play for in terms of pride. They are currently in the midst of a six-game losing streak, during which they have failed to win a single game in the process.

The team has had two draws and four defeats in their past six games, and they would want to get back on track and finish the season on a strong note this weekend. The team’s defensive shortcomings have been exposed in the previous six games, with the club conceding at least two goals per game in five of their last six games.

TEAM NEWS:

Kerala will have two players available for selection: Jeakson Singh and Nishu Kumar. Hormipam has fully healed from his injuries and will be fit for duty again shortly. Jorge Pereyra Diaz has completed his one-game ban and is expected to be eligible for the encounter, according to the coach.

Because all of Chennaiyin’s players are match-fit and there are no suspensions, the team is anticipated to have everyone available for the encounter against the Kerala Blasters. However, it will not be easy for them to get something out of the game, as their rivals on the night are doing better than them at present. Though football is a game of the here and now, it could be an interesting game in parts.

Kerala Blasters FC: Prabhsukhan Singh, Harmanjot Khabra, Marko Leskovic, Enes Sipovic, Jessel Carneiro, Jeakson Singh, Lalthathanga Khawlhring, Sahal Abdul Samad, Adrian Luna, Alvaro Vazquez, Chencho.

Chennaiyin FC: Debjit Majumder, Reagan Singh, Slavko Damjanovic, Narayan Das, Jerry Lalrinzuala, Edwin Vanspaul, Ariel Borysiuk, Vladimir Koman, Anirudh Thapa, Rahim Ali, Nerijus Valskis.

PREDICTIONS:

Kerala Blasters enter this match on the heels of a 2-1 loss to Hyderabad in their most recent encounter, which took place during the previous midweek period. The Blasters have now won only two of their past six games, putting them in a difficult position to contend for the crown. A Chennaiyin squad that has suffered three losses in their previous four matches and has gone winless for the last six will be the opponents for them on Saturday. Kerala Blasters will enter this game as the clear favourites, and they will be in a good position to win.

Chennaiyin was beaten 3-0 by Kerala Blasters in their last meeting between the two teams. However, Chennaiyin has a 6-to-17 edge in head-to-head games against KBFC, who have won 4 of these meetings, and 7 of these matches have resulted in a tie. Kerala Blasters’ recent record, which includes two victories in their previous five games, is much better than CFC’s three losses and two draws. So far, everything leads to a KBFC victory or a tie, but with so much on the line for the men in yellow, we might see a side emerge victorious.
