Following the completion of the international break, Liverpool will take on Watford in the English Premier League at the Anfield on 2nd April.
Jurgen Klopp’s side is just a solitary point behind Manchester City who will face another relegation contender Burnley on the same day. City ere leading with 14 points until January but they have faltered in the title race and the Reds are ready to tighten their grip once again.
The title race is far from over and Liverpool are in no mood to slow down. They defeated Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup quarter final and their dream of winning the quadruple is very much on the right track as they are also poised to face Benfica in the Champions League quarter final.
They have been relentless on their home turf with their only defeat came at the hands of Inter Milan at the Anfield this season. The addition of Luis Diaz added more balance to their attacking contingent and Jurgen Klopp’s side now has a much improved squad depth than City’s.
A win here would see them at the top very briefly as the defending champions could snatch their spot with a win against the Clarets.
The Merseysiders have been in turbulent form and they can easily steamroll Watford who are facing a relegation crisis. Roy Hodgson needs to propel his side towards safety and a win would certainly boost their chances.
They defeated Southampton in the last match and showed signs of improvement. Defensive performances have stabilised and they definitely need some inspiration in a bid to thwart Liverpool’s attacking trio.
Away form has been pretty good as they scrapped out wins against Aston Villa and Watford while also registering an encouraging draw against Manchester United.
Joao Pedro and Cucho Hernandez are the players to watch and if the Hornets are to grind out something from this match these two need to fire.
Watford are currently sitting in 18th place with 22 points three points behind Everton who also have two games in hand. With the ouster of Xisco and Claudio Ranieri, the club has already witnessed three managerial appointments and the onus will be on Hodgson to steady the ship.
The Reds thrashed the Hornets 5-0 at Vicarage Road last time. This time the scoreline are unlikely to be repeated but the home side could grab an easy win which could brighten their hopes of lifting another Premier League title.
