According to BCCI’s rules for the IPL 2022 mega auction had the opportunity to pick three players from the pool of released players before the mega auction.
On January 21, the official IPL team from Lucknow announced their draft picks ahead of IPL 2022. They signed KL Rahul for Rs 17 crore and also appointed him as the captain. KL Rahul had earlier represented Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League. All-rounder Marcus Stoinis had been signed for Rs 9.2 crore while they also roped in then-uncapped Ravi Bishnoi for Rs 4 crore.
