MCI vs NFO, EPL 2022/23, Matchday 5: Preview, Predictions & Fantasy XI

Reigning champions Manchester City will take on newly-promoted side Nottingham Forest in Matchday five of the Premier League 2022-23 at the Etihad Stadium in the early hours of Thursday in India.

Manchester City head into the Nottingham Forest fixture after securing a 4-2 win over Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace at the Etihad in their last Premier League match on Saturday.

After an own goal from City defender John Stones gave a 1-0 lead to Palace, Danish centre-back Joachim Andersen netted another goal for the visitors in the 21st minute to make it 2-0.

However, with 0-2 down, an important strike from Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva in the 53rd minute followed by a stunning hat-trick from new summer signing Erling Haaland helped Manchester City secure three valuable points from the encounter.

With three wins and one draw, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are currently placed second in the Premier League  2022-23 standings with 10 points from four games, two points behind league leaders Arsenal.

On the other hand, Nottingham Forest will look to bounce back after suffering a 0-2 loss against Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur at the City Ground in West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire on Sunday.

Having secured promotion to the Premier League for the first time since 1999, Steve Cooper’s Nottingham Forest have registered one win, one draw and two losses in their four matches so far. With four points from as many games, Forest are currently placed 14th in the Premier League 2022-23 standings.
