Manchester City vs Borussia Dortmund, UEFA Champions League 2022/23: MPL Preview, Predictions & Fantasy Team

Manchester City (MCI) will host Borussia Dortmund (BVB) in their second Group G match of the UEFA Champions League 2022/23 at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, England in the wee hours of Thursday, September 15. The match will kick off at 12:30 AM Indian Standard Time (IST).

Reigning Premier League champions Manchester City started their UEFA Champions League 2022/23 campaign with a dominating 4-0 win over La Liga outfit Sevilla at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán last week.

Manchester City star forward Erling Haaland scored a brace while Phil Foden and Ruben Diaz netted one goal each to thrash the hosts and secure a commanding victory.

Under the tutelage of manager Pep Guardiola, Manchester City are currently on an eight-match unbeaten streak. The Citizens have also made an impressive start to the Premier League title defence, having registered four wins and two draws so far. With 14 points from six matches, the defending champions are currently placed second in the Premier League 2022/23 standings, one point behind table-toppers Arsenal.

On the other hand, Borussia Dortmund will look to bounce back after suffering a 0-3 defeat against RB Leipzig in their previous game in the Bundesliga on Saturday. Having registered four victories and two defeats in the Bundesliga so far, Edin Terzić’s Borussia Dortmund are currently placed fifth in the standings with 12 points from six games, two points behind league leaders Union Berlin.

However, Borussia Dortmund beat Danish football club F.C. Copenhagen 3-0 in their opening Group G clash of the UEFA Champions League last week.

Marco Reus, Raphael Guerreiro and Jude Bellingham scored a goal each to help Die Borussen bag maximum points from their fixture.

Manchester City are currently at the top of the UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Group G standings, courtesy of a better goal difference than Borussia Dortmund. Both the teams have three points from one game while Sevilla and Copenhagen are yet to open their account.
