Faf du Plessis-led Superchargers defeated Manchester Originals in their opening fixture by six wickets. David Willey was superb with the ball, picking 2 for 24 while Adil Rashid claimed 1 for 20 in his spell of 20 balls as they restricted Jos Buttler-led Manchester to 161/4 in 100 balls. Adam Lyth then provided a great start with 51 off just 30. Willey scored 29 off 20 while Harry Brook took them over the line with 19-ball 33.

Trent Rockets are coming off a six-wicket win over Birmingham Phoenix in their first game. Daniel Sams snared 3 for 24 in his quota of 20 balls while Samit Patel picked 2 for 12 in his 15 deliveries. Lewis Gregory conceded 8 runs in 10 balls and bagged a wicket as they restricted Birmingham to 143/7. Chasing the target, Colin Munro scored 36 off 22 while Alex Hales played a terrific knock of 41-ball 58. Joe Root then saw off the run-chase with a 26-ball 34 not-out.

The all-rounder was magnificent for Yorkshire in the T20 Blast, smashing 246 runs in nine matches at an average of 41 while striking at 142. He also picked 13 wickets in the tournament at a strike rate of 14.2.

Alex Hales: Batter, Trent Rockets

Alex Hales is coming off a terrific knock of 58 in 41 balls against Birmingham Phoenix in their season opener. The opening batter has been in great form, having struck at 194 in the T20 Blast this year. Hales has an outstanding record in the shorter format, with 9903 runs at an average of 31 and strike rate of 147.

Adam Lyth: Batter, Northern Superchargers

Adam Lyth had a great campaign for Yorkshire in the T20 Blast, amassing 525 runs at an average of 35 while striking at a blistering 177. The left hand batter carried that form into the Hundred with an excellent 51 off 30 balls in the first game. Lyth has over 3800 runs in the shorter format at 27 average and 148 strike rate.

Daniel Sams: All-rounder, Trent Rockets

Daniel Sams was excellent with the ball against Birmingham, picking 3 for 24 in 20 balls. The Aussie all-rounder had a good T20 Blast season, where he picked 14 wickets in 12 matches at a strike rate of 17.5 and scored 165 runs at an average of 24 while striking at 175.

Rashid Khan: Bowler, Trent Rockets

Rashid Khan was taken to cleaners in the first game by Liam Livingstone but the Afghanistan superstar remains a top pick. He smashed 25 off 12 and snared 2 for 24 in his last game in the T20 Blast after claiming 3 for 30 in the earlier game. Rashid has 466 wickets in the shorter format at 6.37 rpo and 16.6 strike rate.
