Match: New Zealand women vs South Africa women T20I (NZ-W vs SA-W)
Date: July 30, 4:30 PM IST
Venue: Edgbaston, Birmingham, England
New Zealand Women will take on South Africa Women in Match 3 of CWG Women’s Cricket 2022. The White Ferns were not able to make it to the semi-finals of the ODI World Cup, but were impressive in the bilateral limited-overs series against India. It can be mentioned that New Zealand have not played any international cricket after the World Cup in February, and thus do not have enough match practice.
South Africa, on the other hand, very recently played against England in a multi-format series, but lost both the ODI and T20I series 3-0. Earlier, they qualified for the semi-final of the World Cup before being eliminated.
South Africa Women haven’t performed well against New Zealand Women historically, having won only two games against them. To add to their woes, some of their key players are out of form. New Zealand, meanwhile, boast of players like Sophie Devine, Suzie Bates and Amelia Kerr and are one of the strongest teams in the shortest format.
Both the teams will look to start their Commonwealth Games 2022 campaign on a winning note. But going by how both the teams look on paper, the White Ferns are the favourites to win this encounter.
Ahead of match 3 of CWG cricket 2022, let’s look at the head to head of both the teams, pitch report, weather update, top picks for your MPL fantasy team and more.
