Oval Invincibles, led by Dane van Niekerk, were the champions of the inaugural women’s Hundred edition. They finished second on the points table with 9 points, winning four out of eight matches. Invincibles then defeated Birmingham Phoenix by 20 runs in the Eliminator to reach the final. They hammered a heavy favourites Southern Brave side by 48 runs and clinched the title.

The women’s team of Northern Superchargers finished sixth on the table, bagging just three victories and losing four games. Lauren Winfield-Hill, who led Superchargers in the last season, is set to represent Oval Invincibles this time around. Both the teams will be eager to get their campaign off to a winning start.

Bates has over 3500 runs in international T20 career at an average of 30 with one hundred and 22 fifties.

Jemimah Rodrigues: Batter, Northern Superchargers

The Indian batting superstar lit up the Hundred last year, scoring 249 runs in seven innings at an average of 41.5 while striking at 151. She ended up 10 runs short of the leading run-getter, with two fewer innings. Rodrigues is coming off good form, scoring 56*, 44* and 33 in the last three innings.

Shabnim Ismail: Bowler, Oval Invincibles

Shabnim Ismail has been one of the best seamers in the game and although her form hasn’t been great in recent times, she remains a big threat. She has 115 wickets from 105 International T20s at an economy of 5.80 and strike rate of 19.3. Shabnim has claimed 2/27 and 1/12 in her last two T20 innings.

Dane van Niekerk: All-rounder, Oval Invincibles

The South African all-rounder is coming off a long layoff, having missed the ODI World Cup and CWG games. Dane van Niekerk was the MVP in the women’s Hundred last year, scoring 259 runs at an average of 43 with two fifties and picking 8 wickets at a strike rate of 18.75. In international T20s, van Niekerk has 1877 runs and 65 wickets.

Linsey Smith: Bowler, Northern Superchargers

Linsey Smith was excellent in the Hundred last year, picking 9 wickets from seven games at a strike rate of 14.67. The left arm spinner is known for her impeccable control and tight lines. She has claimed 6 wickets in her last four T20s, including 2/18 against South Africa, playing for England A.
