Match: Pakistan vs Zimbabwe, 3rd T20I (PAK vs ZIM)
Date: November 10, 2020
Venue: Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium – Rawalpindi, Pakistan
Pakistan raced away to a 2-0 series win when they clinched the second game of the three-match T20 International series against Zimbabwe on Sunday. The home team were clinical, with skipper Babar Azam, Haider Ali, Mohammed Hafeez and the bowlers Mohammad Hasnain and Haris Rauf in excellent form. Usman Qadir picked up three wickets as well in the last game, and the Pakistanis might bring in a number of changes to their XI for this encounter to give the young guns a chance.
Zimbabwe, on the other hand, have looked well below par. They had managed to put on a fight in the ODI series, that they had lost 1-2, but they have been extremely dismal in the last two games. No player other than Wesley Madhevere and Brendan Taylor have looked like putting up a fight, and the visitors will want to end the tour with a flourish.
Winter has started to set in Pakistan, which means that the temperature in the evening will be in the low twenties.
The track in Rawalpindi has plenty of runs to offer. If the home team bats first, we can even expect a score of over 200 in the game.
The teams that will win the toss might opt to chase as dew will make its presence felt in the second half of the game.
PAK Expected XI and Team News
The home team might make at least two changes to their XI, to give the players on the bench a chance after they have won the series. Hence, we could see Abdullah Shafique and Zafar Gohar get a game.
Babar Azam: The Pakistani skipper has scored two fifties in the last two games, and the opportunity is ripe for him to get to triple digits in the game. He has been leading from the front and will want to end on a high.
Mohammad Hafeez: The all-rounder has plenty of experience and will be the key in the middle overs. He scored a fine 36 in the first game, but did not get a chance to bat in the last match.
Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam (c), Mohammed Hafeez, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Haider Ali, Khushdil Shah, Faheem Ashraf , Usman Qadir, Wahab Riaz, Haris Rauf, Mohammed Hasnain.
ZIM Expected XI and Team News
The team too might make a few changes after losing the series. We could see cricketers such as Faraz Akram, Milton Shumba and Craig Ervine find a spot in the XI.
Brendan Taylor: The wicket-keeper has got starts in the T20I series, but has been unable to get a big score. He was in fine form in the ODIs, scoring a hundred and a fifty, and will want to replicate that form.
Sean Williams; The all-rounder had scored a ton in the third ODI against Pakistan, which helped his team over the line. He got a good start in the first T20I, and will be itching to leave his mark.
Brendan Taylor (wk), Chamu Chibhabha (c), Sean Williams, Wesley Madhevere, Sikandar Raza, Ryan Burl, Elton Chigumbura, Tendai Chisoro, Donald Tiripano, Blessing Muzarabani, Richard Ngarava
Head to head record of PAK vs ZIM:
The two teams have met each other 13 times in T20 Internationals, but Zimbabwe are yet to win a game against the Asian team. They will face a tough task on Tuesday, but they have the players to create an upset.
MPL Fantasy Prediction for PAK vs ZIM:
WK: Brendan Taylor has not been in the best of forms in the T20Is, but he was excellent in the ODI series that his team lost narrowly 1-2. He is an excellent batter at the top of the order, and has plenty of experience as well.
Batsmen: Babar Azam has scored fifties in the last two games and will be eager to carry on and get a ton in the third and final T20I match. Haider Ali played a match-winning knock in the last game to prove his worth and his talent. The youngster will want to get a big knock and impress, while Fakhar Zaman has not had the best run in this tour, but he oozes plenty of class, and should be backed to come good.
All-rounders: Mohammad Hafeez had won the Man of the Series award when Pakistan had traveled to England a few months ago. He has plenty of experience, and had looked in good nick in the first T20I. Sean Williams bats at number three, and has got starts but will want to get a big score, while youngster Wesley Madhevere has scored 94 runs in the two games, and has also been in a good run in the last ten games that he has played.
Bowlers: The trio of Haris Rauf, Usman Qadir and Wahab Riaz are must-picks in the MPL fantasy team. Rauf has five wickets to his name in the two games thus far, while Qadir has been lethal with his leg spin, and has picked up 4 wickets. Riaz has experience and will be crucial with the new ball. Blessing Muzarabani has picked up 4 wickets in the two games in the series thus far, and has impressed with his variations.
Captain and VC: Haris Rauf and Fakhar Zaman
Match Prediction for PAK vs ZIM:
Pakistan are the clear favourites to win the T20I series 3-0. They have a more balanced squad, while the Zimbabweans have blown hot and cold and are struggling to play well as a unit.
