5 Players from St Kitts and Nevis Patriots to watch out for in CPL 2020

Another fruitful season awaits St Kitts and Nevis Patriots as they aim to compete in the upcoming edition of CPL.

Last season, they were at the third spot in the points table and were eventually knocked out by Trinbago Knight Riders in the Eliminators. That loss must have been a learning experience for the Patriots as they come back stronger than before for CPL 2020.

The Patriots are yet to seize their maiden CPL title, however, the performances that they have exhibited so far and the squad they possess at present, the franchise would fancy their chances of making it to the playoffs.

Keeping that in mind, let us take a look at the top 5 players from St Kitts and Nevis Patriots to watch out for in CPL 2020.

Evin Lewis

The T20 format suits Evin Lewis who has carved himself an image as a big-basher. He is rated among those batsmen who could rip any bowling attack in the World if and when needed.

In 59 CPL T20s, he has aggregated 1552 runs which comprise a tally of 13 fifties. The southpaw struck 2 fifties in the last season and played at a striking rate close to 150.

It doesn’t take him much time to find the momentum and if he does, he could possibly be a nightmare for the opposition.

Sohail Tanvir

It wouldn’t be wrong to state that Sohail Tanvir is one of the best left-arm pacers to have played T20 cricket. The bowling all-rounder has competed in all major T20 tournaments with impressive numbers in the Caribbean League.

The Pakistani cricketer has grabbed 63 wickets in 59 T20s. An average of 21.20 and an economy as low as 6.69, the numbers speak for themselves as why his addition to any CPL side gives them an advantage at the bowling front.

Not just with the ball, Tanvir could be highly assistive while batting at lower order and get those crucial 20s and 30s without compromising on the strike rate.

Chris Lynn

The franchise would want Lynn-sanity to take place in the upcoming season of CPL. One of the most lethal strikers of the ball, Chris Lynn could possibly be the biggest match-winner for the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

In over 180 T20s around the globe, the Australian batter has amassed 5096 runs at a strike rate of 144.45, and holds 2 centuries and 34-half centuries to his name.

When on song, Lynn could possibly whack every delivery for a shot straight out of the park, making him a player to closely follow throughout the tournament.

Sheldon Cottrell

An excellent swing exponent who could bowl over 140 with ease, the franchise would want Cottrell to scalp those early dismissals, especially against the right-handers who are usually more susceptible to the left-armers and their inswinging deliveries.

He is among the highest wicket takers in CPL with 69 dismissals and averaging 19.33. It’s really an achievement to garner such numbers considering he bowls in the powerplay when batsmen love to tonk big hits.

In CPL 2019, Cottrell performed brilliantly as he averaged just under 20 and grabbed 12 wickets at an economy of 7.83, and thus, its natural for the fans and the franchise to be rooting for him in CPL 2020.

Fabian Allen

Not many CPL T20s under his kitty, yet, Fabian Allen has been aggressive in the matches that he has competed.

A middle-order batsman, Allen averages 37.44 and has scored 337 runs at a strike rate over 180. If the team needs destructive cameos in the death overs then Fabian Allen is the man whom they should trust in such occasions.
