The match no. 6 of the Indian T20 League 2022 feature one of the most intense rivalries in the league as Kolkata take on Bangalore. The two teams will go head to head at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday, March 30.

The confidence will be sky high for the Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata, who are coming into this game on the back of a six-wicket win over the defending champions Chennai. The Kolkata bowlers – Umesh Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy in particular – were on song at Wankhede, restricting Chennai to 131/5 despite MS Dhoni’s fifty. Ajinkya Rahane scored a 34-ball 44 in the second innings as Kolkata chased down the target with nine balls remaining.

Bangalore, on the other hand, suffered a five-wicket defeat at the hands of Punjab in their opening fixture at DY Patil Stadium. Batting first, Bangalore posted a good total of 205/2 on the back of Faf du Plessis’ 88 off 57, Virat Kohli’s 29-ball 41* and 32* off 14 by Dinesh Karthik. Their bowlers couldn’t get their radar right as Punjab chased down the target with an over to spare.
