The Women’s ODI World Cup 2022 has its four finalists – Australia, South Africa, England and West Indies. In the second semi-final, we will witness South Africa and England women take on each other at Bay Oval in Christchurch on Thursday, March 31. 

South Africa women have had an incredible WC campaign so far, finishing second in the group stage with 11 points. The Sune Luus-led side has won five matches out of seven and their only loss came against the table-toppers Australia. SA are coming off a nail-biting victory over India in the last group fixture, where they knocked out India by chasing 275 on the last ball. 

England, on the other hand, had suffered three consecutive losses at the beginning of their campaign but bounced back spectacularly to win the next four and finish third on the table. Heather Knight’s England hammered Bangladesh by 100 runs in the last group game. 

South Africa had come out victorious by three wickets when these two teams met in the group stage, chasing down 236. The defending champions England would be looking to settle the scores on Thursday.

Tammy Beaumont: Batter, England

Tammy Beaumont has been pretty solid at the top of the order for England. She has scored 3192 runs in 92 ODIs at an average of 43 with eight centuries and 16 half centuries. Beaumont has scored 243 runs in the ongoing WC at 35 average with two fifties. Beaumont comes at 9.5 credits in the MPL XI. 

Marizanne Kapp: All-rounder, South Africa

Marizanne Kapp has been one of the pillars for South Africa women and has been terrific in the ongoing WC. Sophie Ecclestone: Bowler, England
