SA20: EAC vs PRL Fantasy Preview and MPL Top Picks

Match: Sunrisers Eastern Cape vs Paarl Royals (EAC vs PRL)

Date: January 19, Thursday, 9.00 PM IST

Venue:  Boland Park, Paarl

The Paarl Royals and Sunrisers Eastern Cape will lock horns in match 14 of the SA20 2023 on Thursday, January 19 at Boland Park in Paarl.

The Royals, led by David Miller, are currently placed second in the points table with nine points and a net run rate of +0.322. If they win the next game, they are likely to displace the Pretoria Capitals from top of the points table. The Royals come into the game after beating the Durban Super Giants by 10 runs in their previous match. Left-arm spinner Bjorn Fortuin, who finished with figures of 4-0-14-3, was named the Player of the Match, while with the bat, a half-century from Wihan Lubbe helped them.

The Sunrisers, on the other hand, are placed at the fifth spot in the table with eight points and a net run rate of -0.579. However, if they win the next game comprehensively, they may move up to the second spot on the table.

Sunrisers are on a two-match winning streak, and come into this game on the back of two-wicket win over MI Cape Town. Batting first, MI Cape Town posted a total of 171 runs in their 20 overs but a 27-ball 66 with seven sixes and three fours by Marco Jansen helped the Sunrisers chase down the target with three balls to spare.

Ahead of the 14th game of the SA20, let’s look at the head to head of both the teams, pitch report, weather update, top picks for your MPL fantasy team and more.

Weather update and pitch report for EAC vs PRL

The pitch at Boland Park is not a high-scoring one and the spinners are likely to get maximum assistance from the surface.

The weather during the game in Paarl is likely to be pleasant with no chance of rain. Temperature is expected to cross 25 degrees Celsius.
