UAE vs Bangladesh, 2nd T20I:
Perhaps Bangladesh did not see that coming, but they would not be totally satisfied by the way they picked up a victory in the first T20I. The UAE contingent put in a valiant effort with the bat and ball taking the game to the 40th over, but fell seven runs short.
While there are positives to take for the hosts and plenty to ponder about for Bangladesh, they do not have a lot of time before the second T20I is upon them. The short-lived bilateral outing from the sub-continent side will finish on September 27 with the second game between these sides, post which they will head to the World Cup in Australia.
Bangladesh’s day was saved by Afif Hossain and newly minted skipper Nurul Hasan, who otherwise would’ve struggled to put 75 runs on the board. Sabbir Rahman fell for a duck whilst Liton Das failed to capitalise on his start, but they will be boosted by Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s performance.
Senior batter Chirag Suri got some vital runs for the side but besides him, there were too many bits-and-pieces contributions from the hosts which eventually kept them away from the target. If one of their batters can stick for a longer duration, we could witness an upset on Tuesday.
Pitch Report and Weather Forecast for UAE vs BAN, 2nd T20I
204 T20 matches have taken place at the Dubai International Stadium until now, 61 of which have been at the international level. In T20I cricket, the average first innings score at this venue is 144, which appropriately summed up the first game between these sides where just over 300 runs were scored collectively.
Weather conditions in Dubai seem pretty normal for an Asia country on the game day, with the temperatures ranging from 38-38 degrees. No rain interruptions are expected for this fixture.
UAE – Expected XI and Team News
This combination nearly worked out a wonder for the hosts, who will continue with the same XI. They might be tempted to try out young fast bowler Sanchit Sharma in place of Sabir Ali, but it would come as a surprise if it were to transpire.
Probable XI – Waseem Muhammad, Chirag Suri, Aryan Lakra, Vriitya Aravind (wk), CP Rizwan (c), Basil Hameed, Aayan Khan, Zawar Farid, Karthik Meiyappan, Junaid Siddique, Sabir Ali/Sanchit Sharma
Bangladesh – Expected XI and Team News
The management might be tempted to give Soumya Sarkar a try and he could be featuring as an opener for Sabbir Rahman. Besides that, Bangladesh are expected to continue with the same team.
Probable XI – Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Sabbir Rahman/Soumya Sarkar, Liton Das, Afif Hossain, Yasir Ali, Mosaddek Hossain, Nurul Hasan (c & wk), Nasum Ahmed, Mohammad Saifuddin, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam

2nd T20I: Five players to watch out for in the UAE vs BAN match
Here we take a look at five key players you must pick in your MPL fantasy XI:
Chirag Suri: Batter, UAE
Chirag Suri is the most experienced batter in the UAE line-up and has found success beyond the country as well. He has made 786 runs in 28 T20Is at a strike rate just over 120, and got a fantastic start in the first T20I. He scored 39 runs in just 24 balls, which included seven boundaries and batted at a strike rate of 162.5. He will cost 8.5 credit points.
Afif Hossain: Batter, Bangladesh
If not for his exceptional effort with the bat, Bangladesh would’ve struggled to put a meaningful total on board in the opening game. The 23-year-old scored 77 off 55 balls, which includes seven fours and three sixes. Incidentally, the last game also was his 50th T20 International in Bangladesh colours and he would love to finish the tour with another big knock. He costs 8.5 credits as well.
Shoriful Islam: Bowler, Bangladesh
Shoriful Islam has the extra pace which can trouble the inexperienced UAE batters, as we saw in the opening game. With 11 runs to defend in the final over, he picked up the remaining two wickets and completed a nerve-wracking win for the visitors. He finished with figures of 3/21. He is a bargain investment at just 8 credit points.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz: All-rounder, Bangladesh
Not often does Mehidy Hasan Miraz gets to open the innings with the bat, but Bangladesh are keen to try him out as a pinch-hitter. The off-spinner has shown tendency to strike the ball well in the past and got a couple of boundaries early in the game. He bowled extremely well, returning with figures of 3/17 and 8.5 credits is a reasonable price for him.
Aayan Afzal Khan: All-rounder, UAE
Aayan Afzal Khan was the surprise package from UAE in the first T20I. The 16-year-old cricketer bamboozled the middle order with his off-breaks and got a crucial wicket of Liton Das as well. He made an instrumental 17-ball 25 with the bat, which got the side closer to the target but was dismissed in the final over. He costs 8 credit points.
