Chelsea will take on Udinese in Udine in their last match of the preseason.
Chelsea had a peculiar summer transfer window as most of their targets have been snatched by Barcelona this summer. The West London giants targeted the likes of Raphinha and Jules Kounde but both the player have been signed by the Spanish side and they will be seen donning the jersey in the La Liga next season.
The Blues will open their Premier League season against Everton at Goodison Park on 6th August. They were thrashed 4-0 by their London rivals Arsenal in the last preseason friendly and Thomas Tuchel would be keen to rectify his mistakes prior to the season.
Their USA tour didn’t turn out to be a positive one as they have lost two matches out of three games they have played so far. Their only win came against Club America as two losses against Charlotte FC and Arsenal have definitely hampered their prospects.
The Blues have roped in Kalidou Koulibaly and Raheem Sterling but have missed on a number of preferred targets so far. They are scheduled to return to London after this match to prepare for their opening clash.
Udinese acquired a 12th place finish last season and they are expected to throw a tough challenged to the English Premier League outfit.
The Italian have been one of the most active clubs in the transfer market bringing in the likes of Adam Masina, Leonardo Buta, Beto and Sandy Lovric. They have played four friendlies so far and will kick start their Serie A journey against AC Milan at the San Siro on 13th August.
Udinese have leaked six goals and scored nine so far in the preseason matches. It will be their first meeting with Chelsea and they will definitely want to finish it on a memorable note.
