The T20 International Cricket was first played between New Zealand and Australia on the 17th of February in 2005. In 2007, the famous Indian cricketer, Yuvraj Singh, scored the first fastest fifty in the ICC World Twenty20 against England in Durban. He scored 6 sixes within an over by Stuart Broad, setting a record still not broken by any other player.

The first fastest fifties player on the list is the Indian Cricketer, Yuvraj Singh. Yuvraj hit the fastest fifties in 12 balls. He set a record in the 2007 ICC World T20 match against England. Yuvraj Singh set a world record by hitting 6 sixes in 6 balls and still holds it even after 13 years.

Born in 1981, Yuvraj has been one of the strongest players and the backbone of the Indian cricket team. In the 2011 cricket World Cup, Yuvraj Singh scored 362 runs and took 15 wickets. He was also declared the ‘Man of the Series’ in the 2011 World Cup, being the only Indian cricket player after Sachin Tendulkar to have won this award so far.

During the match at Ilfov County in 2019, he was placed in the 5th position to bat. Instantly taking on an attack mode against Luxembourg, he scored 51 runs off 14 balls with a strike rate of 364.28. He played the knock of his life with 7 sixes and 2 fours, leading to Austria’s win by 135 runs. Born on the 15th of November 1988, Mirza Ahsan hails from Austria. He has never won the ‘Man of the Match’ award in T20I.

Colin Munro (New Zealand)

The all-rounder from the New Zealand cricket team, Colin Munro, is third on the list of fastest fifty. It was the second T20I of the bilateral series when Munro blew away the bowlers from Sri Lanka. In just 14 balls, the Kiwi top-order batsman scored an unbeaten 50. Munro came to bat at the 3rd position to chase 143 against Sri Lanka and finished the game with 60 balls to spare. In 16 minutes, Munro scored 7 sixes and 1 four with a strike rate of 357.14. He was awarded the ‘Man of the Match’ title in that match.

Munro plays for Auckland at the domestic level and has also been a part of the Under 19 team in the 2006 World Cup in Sri Lanka.

Faisal Khan (Saudi Arabia)

In 2019, Faisal Khan achieved the knock of his life in the ACC Western Region T20 match against Kuwait. He scored his fastest fifty mark off 15 balls and went on to score an unbeaten 83 in 28 balls. This knock placed the Saudi Arabia player in the fourth position on the batsmen’s record books, who scored the fastest fifty during T20 International Cricket. During the match, his knock included 7 fours and 7 sixes, scored at a strike rate of 296.42. His amazing performance helped Saudi Arabia defeat Kuwait with 136 runs, 7 wickets remaining, and 65 balls to spare.

Chris Gayle (West Indies)

The fifth player on the list of the fastest fifty during T20 International Cricket in 2015 is the West Indies player Chris Gayle. He achieved the knock in 2015 against South Africa in just 17 balls, beating South Africa by four wickets. The left-hander player from West Indies thrashed 5 fours and 8 sixes.

Although the West Indies player couldn’t break Yuvraj Singh’s record of the fastest fifty during T20 International, he holds a similar record of the fastest fifty in 12 balls during a Big Bash League match in 2016. So, only Yuvraj Singh and Gayle are the two players who hold the record for the fastest half-century in 12 balls but different leagues.
