West Indies vs England:
England are in the Caribbean for a five-match T20I series as a part of the split tour, with the Test series taking place later in March. The two white-ball teams will clash in the first T20 international at the Kensington Oval on January 22.
This will be the first time Eoin Morgan’s England will be playing the T20Is since their semi-final exit in the T20 World Cup. With some of the key players resting, including the ones who were in the Ashes squad, England will be looking to give new players some opportunities as they begin the preparation for the 2022 T20 WC in Australia.
West Indies, who had crashed out of the WC in group stage, played a three-match T20I series in Pakistan. But their fortunes didn’t change much as they were hammered 3-0, although they were without their regular skipper Kieron Pollard.
The last time these two teams met was in the WC, where England had bundled out the Windies for just 55 and chased down the target in 8.2 overs. Expect a more competitive contest this time around.
