India continued their dominance over the men in maroon as they went 1-0 up in the five-match T20I series. The second T20 international will take place at the Warner Park in Basseterre, St Kitts on Monday, August 1.

The first T20I of the series saw India claim a resounding victory by 68 runs in Tarouba on Friday. On a pitch that wasn’t great for batting, India produced an outstanding performance starting with Rohit Sharma’s 64 off 44. Dinesh Karthik then gave a brilliant finishing touch, blasting 41 not out off 19 balls to propel India to 190/6.

Kyle Mayers started the chase with a few boundaries but Arshdeep Singh removed him and the hosts could not get going again. Arshdeep, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravi Bishnoi snared two wickets each for India, restricting West Indies to 122/8. Dinesh Karthik was named the ‘player of the match’ for his blistering knock.

Ravichandran Ashwin: Bowler, India

Ravichandran Ashwin is one of the best spinners in world cricket and has been reinventing himself in the shorter format. He has picked 63 wickets from 52 T20Is at an economy of 6.75 with two four-wicket hauls. He was superb in the first T20I, picking 2 for 22 and scoring 13 runs. Ashwin is a bit risky but can be a good C/VC pick, coming at 8.5 credits.

Rohit Sharma: Batter, India

Rohit Sharma is amongst the best opening batters in the world. He has an outstanding record in T20 internationals, having scored 3443 runs from 129 matches. He averages 32 while striking at 140, scoring four hundreds and 27 fifties. Rohit is coming off a terrific knock of 64 off 44 in the first game and will be a top C/VC option. He’s priced at 10 credits.

Nicholas Pooran: Wicketkeeper Batter, West Indies

Nicholas Pooran has done well for the Windies in the shorter format, having amassed 1319 runs in 61 matches. He has an average of 29 and strike rate of 130 with nine fifties. Pooran scored 74 and 42 in the last two ODIs against India. And although he was dismissed for 18 in the first T20I, he remains a good pick. Pooran is priced at 9.5 credits.

Hardik Pandya: All-rounder, India

The Indian all-rounder has been in very good form, having smashed a fifty and claimed five wickets in two T20Is against England recently. Hardik then scored 100 runs and picked six scalps in the ODI series against England. His overall T20I numbers read 771 runs at 24 average and 147 strike rate with 48 wickets with the ball. He comes at 9.5 credits.

Kyle Mayers: Batter, West Indies

Kyle Mayers has been pretty good for the West Indies in recent times. He has 229 runs from 10 T20I innings at an average of 24 while striking at 147. He recently made 55 off 38 in the final T20I against Bangladesh and followed it up with 75 and 39 in two of the ODIs against India. Mayers will cost you 9 credits.
