West Indies vs India, 3rd T20I:

The series is tied 1-1 after the Men in Blue lost a close encounter against the West Indies on Monday. Batting first, India lost their captain Rohit Sharma on the first ball of the match, but did not slow down as they continued batting aggressively – an approach they have adopted ever since the disasters of the 2021 T20 World Cup. However, they ended up losing too many qickets upfront, leaving the lower middle-order with a lot of catching up to do. Obed McCoy’s career best of six for 17 meant that India could only post 138 on a good batting track.

In reply, the visitors gave a good fight, with Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya stalling the run flow. Only three-T20I old Arshdeep Singh was once again the star of the night, conceding just six runs in the penultimate over to leave the West Indies with 10 runs to get. However, Avesh Khan, who was backed to bowl the last over over veteran Bhuvneshwar Kumar, conceded a no-ball on just the first delivery of the over, allowing theb hosts to chase down the target with four balls to spare.

3rd T20I: Five players to watch out for in the WI vs IND match

Here we take a look at five key players you must pick in your MPL fantasy XI:

Rohit Sharma: Batter, India

The India captain was out for a first ball duck in the second T20I, but has batted more aggressively in the format since the T20 World Cup last year. His powerplay strike rate is nearing 150 in the last few months, and he struck a quick 64 in only 44 balls in the first game to further show what he is capable of.

Nicholas Pooran: Wicketkeeper Batter, West Indies

The West Indies captain has not had the best run in the two T20Is against India so far, but is one of the most dangerous batters in the world when he gets going. His T20 strike rate is nearing 143, and he showed what he is capable of in the format in this year’s Indian T20 League, making 306 runs at an average of 38.25 with a strike rate of over 144.

Hardik Pandya: All-rounder, India

If Hardik Pandya does not perform with the bat, he will get crucial points with the ball in hand. The all-rounder has made a successful comeback since recovering from a back injury, and did his part in the second T20I as well, top-scoring for India with 31. He also mixed up his pace well with the ball, and conceded only 5.50 runs per over whilst also picking up a wicket.

Obed McCoy: Bowler, West Indies

Obed McCoy has the skill set to be one of the best in the world. He’s arguably the best T20 pacer from the West Indies. The left arm pacer has picked 29 wickets from 18 matches at a strike rate of 12.4. He has snared one five-for and two four-wicket hauls in the format. McCoy is coming off a sensational spell of 6/17 and will cost you 9 credits.

Ravichandran Ashwin: Bowler, India

R Ashwin was expensive in the second game, going for 32 runs off his four overs, but can be wily on his day. He can also score important runs down the order, and is a must-pick.
