The anticipation for the IPL 2025 mega auction is reaching a fever pitch. The event will take place on November 24 and 25, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Over two action-packed days, 574 players will go under the hammer, including several prominent names released by their former teams. List of players at the IPL 2025 mega auction
A total of 1574 players registered for the auction, from which the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shortlisted 574 names – 366 Indian and 208 overseas. The auction will kick off with the marquee players, featuring big names like Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Mitchell Starc, and Mohammad Siraj among several others. A total of 81 players have set their base price at Rs 2 crore, the highest bracket, while 320 players have registered with the lowest base price of Rs 30 lakh. Other price brackets include Rs 1.50 crore, Rs 1 crore, Rs 75 lakh, Rs 50 lakh, and Rs 40 lakh.

Each team can have a maximum of 25 players in its squad, and a minimum of 18. Each franchise has a total purse of Rs 120 crore, though some of it has already been used to retain players ahead of the auction. Punjab Kings lead with the largest remaining purse of Rs 110.5 crore, followed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru with Rs 83 crore. Delhi Capitals have Rs 73 crore, Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants each have Rs 69 crore, Chennai Super Kings hold Rs 55 crore, Kolkata Knight Riders Rs 51 crore, while Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad both have Rs 45 crore. Rajasthan Royals have the smallest purse at Rs 41 crore.

This year, quite a few big names will go under the hammer. Rishabh Pant, who reportedly had some disagreements with the Delhi Capitals management and eventually decided to part ways with the franchise, may cause a bidding war. Shreyas Iyer, who led KKR to the trophy this year, is another player who may fetch over Rs 15 to 20 crore at the auction. KL Rahul, Jos Buttler, Mohammad Siraj, Mitchell Starc, Mohammad Shami, Ishan Kishan, Liam Livingstone, Arshdeep Singh and Faf du Plessis are among others who might fetch million-dollar contracts.
