Highest run-scorer in T20 World Cup: Who tops the records?

India’s Virat Kohli is the highest run-scorer in T20 World Cup history with 1141 runs from 27 matches.

With the T20 World Cup in Australia just around the corner, the anticipation and excitement are increasing with every passing day. The previous edition of the T20 World Cup 2021 held in UAE saw Australia defeating Pakistan in the semi-final and New Zealand in the final to become world champions in this format.

West Indies are the most successful side in T20 World Cup history and they are the only team to win two T20 World Cups. A major reason behind that achievement has been the incredible performances of batsmen, who have pioneered the T20 approach with quick-fire runs and aggressive intent in the powerplay and death overs.

As batters around the world continue to innovate and re-shape the game in this format, it will be interesting to take a look at the list of players who have scored the most runs in T20 World Cup history:

The West Indies giant has played in six editions of the T20 World Cup and hung up his shoes after the latest edition in 2021 in UAE.
